Marshalltown Public Library maintains a collection of local and family history as well as local newspaper archives on microfilm. Our library holds copies of the Marshall County Census beginning in 1850 and Marshall County cemetery records. The library has two microfilm readers. One microfilm reader is available at this time.
A volunteer genealogist assists people visiting the library at no charge. Phone (641-754-5738 ext. 4), mail (105 West Boone Street, Marshalltown, IA 50158), and e-mail (email@example.com) research requests are billed at $15.00 per hour plus minimal charges for copying and postage.
The library has one computer set aside for genealogy research, that can be used on a first-come, first-served basis.
