Play Day

This “come and go” program offers the chance for kids (with a caregiver) to play with giant blocks, Legos, dollhouse, kitchen set, and more in the blue activity room. Free, no pre-registration needed. Daycare/preschools groups are asked to pre-register to bring groups of 8 or more children.

Conversation Circles – Grupos de Conversación

Are you interested in practicing your English? Do you want to meet new people from diverse backgrounds in the Marshalltown community? The Marshalltown Public Library is looking for individuals who are interested in both helping others in speaking English comfortably and individuals who would like a friendly environment to practice their English speaking skills. Pokemon League

Pokemon League is for fans of the trading card game. Players bring their own cards and “battle” in an informal league setting, facilitated by volunteers. Volunteers may help players learn to play, as time permits. Players do not lose cards if they lose the battle and may earn new cards and badges through participation. Adam Miller: Folksongs of the First World War

The library is pleased to welcome back Adam Miller, Legendary Folksinger, Storyteller, and Autoharp Virtuoso, for a performance at the library on Sunday, May 17 at 2:00 P.M. Seventy million military personnel participated in the First World War (1914-1918), the so-called “War to End All Wars.”  Many of the songs of this war have become part of the English-language oral tradition.
