Due to the increase in community spread of COVID-19 in Marshall County, the Marshalltown Public Library will be closing the library building to the public and returning to a curbside pickup model of service. Effective Thursday, November 12th, the library will be providing curbside pickup of materials and the library building will be temporarily closed until case positivity rates decrease. Small Talk is an award-winning series of free classes for parents of babies ages birth to 30 months, in which you’ll learn simple strategies to talk, read, and sing more with your baby. This research-based program by LENA Start has great short-term and long-term benefits. Parents or a primary caregiver attends the classes in the Cafe, while library staff and trained volunteers provide childcare (if needed). Each family receives snacks and a free book at each class session, with a graduation ceremony in December.
Registration is required for the 10 week session; space is limited. Please stop by the library or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information, an FAQ info sheet, and/or to register.
