The library will begin its walkthrough phase on Wednesday, July 15. The library will be open to the public from 12pm-6pm Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. Masks that cover a person’s nose and mouth will be required for entry into the building, except for babies and toddlers. If someone is unable to wear a mask, they can contact the library at 641-754-5738 ext. 2 for information about alternative services. Curbside pickup will still be available from 10:00am-5:45pm Monday through Friday and 1:00-3:00pm on Sundays. Plans may change on short notice, as circumstances surrounding COVID-19 warrant. Small Talk is an award-winning series of free classes for parents of babies ages birth to 30 months, in which you’ll learn simple strategies to talk, read, and sing more with your baby. This research-based program by LENA Start has great short-term and long-term benefits. Parents or a primary caregiver attends the classes in the Cafe, while library staff and trained volunteers provide childcare (if needed). Each family receives snacks and a free book at each class session, with a graduation ceremony in December.
Registration is required for the 10 week session; space is limited. Please stop by the library or email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information, an FAQ info sheet, and/or to register.
